coexistence, or ecological disturbance 공생인가, 생태계 교란인가

멀리서 보면 보이지 않지만, 가까이 다가가면 드러나는 마이크로 월드. 색과 질감, 물질이 얽혀 서로 영향을 주고받는 그 세계는 ' 공생인가, 생태계 교란인가?' 나는 이 경계 위에서 회화가 어떻게 생태적 인터페이스로 작동할 수 있는지를 탐구한다.

From a distance it remains unseen, but when approached, a micro world emerges, a living field where colour, texture and matter respond to one another. Pigments behave like organisms, growing, merging and decaying, forming shifting relationships that suggest both harmony and tension. Each layer holds a trace of transformation, each surface records a quiet negotiation between forces.

I observe this process as an ecologist might, attentive to cycles of adaptation and disruption. What begins as a study of materials expands into an exploration of society itself, how invisible systems sustain or disturb our collective life. Through painting, I translate these interactions into visual reflections on interdependence and vulnerability.

The work moves between microscopic and social scales, allowing matter to mirror the rhythms of the world we inhabit. In this way, painting becomes an ecological interface, a space where the movements of pigment and the structures of society briefly meet and recognise each other
